Recreation Programs for Adults

    • Yoga with Holly: Basic stretching, breathing and yoga poses. Enjoy the gift of time to yourself while improving health and well being. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a blanket to class. All levels are welcome. For more information: 306-445-1754
        • Offered:  Wednesdays at 5.30pm July 18th, 25th, August 1st, 8th and 15th
        • Cost: $9 drop in.   No registration required.  Fall classes begin September 17th
        • Location: Logie Hall, Third Avenue United Church (13th Ave. & 102nd St.)
      • Gentle Yoga: Stretch, tone, and relax while blending balance, strength, and flexibility. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a blanket to class.
        • Offered: fall, winter and spring (Wednesdays   2-3.30pm) 
        • Cost: $47.00 or $10 drop in
        • Location: Logie Hall, Third Avenue United Church (13th Ave. & 102nd St.)
      • Mummy & Me: Bring your baby to your work out. Focusing on all aspects of fitness, this class will help you develop a workout routine that will include abdominal and core work as well as stretching. Please bring a stroller.

        • Cost: $94.50

      • Tots and Toning: Bring your children for supervised play time while you enjoy an instructor led Total Body workout. Snack provided for the children. Pre registration only.

      • Chi Kung/Tai Chi: Consists of slow meditative movements that heal, rejuvenate, and promote health and relaxation. All levels are welcome, and no experience is necessary. 306-445-1754

    • Group Meditation: Give yourself the gift of time. Leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and replenished. New class each month if enough interest and run in sets of 4 weeks. Call Central Booking to register 306-445-1755

    • Free Noon Hour Shinny: Free Shinny sponsored by River City Plumbing and Heating. Bring your own sticks, gloves, skates and helmets.
      • Offered: Mondays October 15 - December 17    12-1pm

    • Drop in Noon hour Shinny Hockey: Bring your own stick, skates, gloves, and helmet. This is a non supervised activity for 18 yrs and over. Players must wear a helmet.

    • Nordic Walking Workshop: Walking with poles: burns 20 - 45% more calories than just walking, is a save, full body, low impact activity and  reduces stress on the hips and knees by 30%.

    • Pre-natal Fitness: Safe pregnancy exercise for women in any stage of pregnancy. Regular exercise will help you to stay healthy and feel your best, while helping with labour and delivery. All fitness levels are welcome. Participants require medical clearance from their doctor and a Par med x for pregnancy must be completed prior to starting the class.

  • Stretch and Strengthen: Increase your overall muscle strength and flexibility, while working on your core strength and practicing ways to retain good posture and balance.

  • Total Body Conditioning (TBC): This is the perfect all around workout. Tone muscle, burn fat and strengthen all of your major muscle groups. This class is perfect for all fitness levels.

  • TRX Suspension Training: Kick start your fitness program with suspension training. Learn to use the TRX band, the correct body position and basic TRX movements. Emphasizing strength, range of motion and stretching, this class is fun and invigorating. All fitness levels are welcome.

  • Zumba: This total body work out combines all your fitness needs - cardio, endurance, balance and flexibility. Boost your energy with this fun and exhilarating dance work out.

  • Strong by Zumba: This Music led High Intensity Interval Training class uses traditional fitness moves for a fantastic full body work out.

Recreation Programs for Youth

  • Kids in the Kitchen: In partnership with Midwest Foods Resources children 10 - 13yrs will learn the basics of cooking and baking. They will prepare meals and take them home for the whole family to enjoy! Pre - Registration is required. 306-445-1755 or 306-445-1790.

  • Babysitters Training: This is a Saskatchewan Red Cross Course, for children 11 yrs or older. The course includes: basic childcare, fire safety, first aid and tips on how to be a good babysitter.Children will learn how to prepare lunch. Please bring snacks and a raw egg. Manual included. Recreation Programs for Preschool

  • Toddler Turf Time: Explore a world of play with your preschooler. Enjoy this drop in indoor play space where children can climb, slide, and play with plenty of room to run. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
    • Offered: spring, fall and winter (Mondays and Wednesdays 9-11am and Tuesdays 1.30-2:30pm)
    • Cost: Ages 3 ($3.50), Adults ($6.25)

  • Indoor Playground: The indoor playground provides an indoor playspace for children 5 yrs of age and under to play and make friends, while giving parents a chance to meet and socialize. Playground Program 

The City of North Battleford offers a free playground program for children aged 6 to 12  11:00 - 5:00pm Monday - Friday.  The program runs during July and August and is supervised by trained leaders. Hours may vary for special events, parents are encouraged to watch for information coming home with their children in June.

These are the City's Playground Program Sites:

  • Centennial Park: Located behind Beaver Lions Stadium. This playground is situated in Centennial Park and has access to lots of open space, playground equipment, swings as well as a splash pad.
  • Kinsmen Park: 18th Avenue and 94th Street. This area has many mature trees which provide attractive shade for parents on a hot summer afternoon. The playground features a splash pad, partial-handicap accessible play equipment and swings.
  • Fairview Park: This playground is on Clements Drive in Fairview Heights. It makes use of open space and innovating programming ideas to provide a quality program for the children.
  • Connaught School: 902-107th Street. This playground makes use of Connaught school yard. Children have access to playground equipment, an outdoor basketball area and plenty of open space.
