Credit Union CUplex Battlefords CO-OP Aquatic Centre

The Battlefords CO-OP Aquatic Centre opened in 2012 and is one of the components of the Credit Union CUplex, located at 623 Carlton Trail in North Battleford. It has a 6 lane lap pool, a wave pool, two waterslides, a lazy river, a whirlpool, and a steam room. Our goal is to provide fun as well as programming of different types for all ages at affordable rates.

Please be advised: All children under 8 years old MUST be accompanied by a person of at least 14 years old. The person 14 years old or older must also be in the water with the child and within an arm's reach of the child. The maximum number of children under 8 years old for one parent/ guardian will be 3.

Water Park & Mini Games

Join us on June 18th at 1:00 pm at the Centennial Park Splash Park for mini-games and summer fun lead by the City’s Summer Day Camp Staff!  Bring along your runners for some team-building activities, or come in your swimsuit for some splash park fun. Bring along chairs, towels, sunscreen, or anything else you may need to soak up the June sun. A cool treat and drink will be provided.

This event is weather dependent. In the event of poor weather, activities will be moved to the Credit Union CUplex NationsWEST Field House. Keep an eye on the City of North Battleford Facebook page for more information regarding the location.

Scavenger Hunt

Come to the NationsWEST Field House on June 19th for a family scavenger hunt. Sign-in starts at 12:30 pm, and the hunt begins at 1 pm. Follow the clues to the destinations, and write down each summer-themed word on your scavenger sheet. When you’re finished, come back to the Field House with the completed sheet for a treat and free time on the turf until 4:30 pm.

As many of the scavenger hunt locations will be out of walking distance, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Transportation to and from locations around the Battlefords will be the responsibility of the accompanying adult. Pre-registration for this family event is required. Registration is by calling 306-445-1790.

Facility Guidelines

Locks for Lockers

Tokens for lockers are no longer available. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own locks to secure personal belongings in lockers. Locks remaining on lockers after hours will be removed, and personal belongings will be placed in a lost and found at the reception desk. The facility is not responsible for items left behind after closing time, be sure to remove all personal items and locks after each visit to the Aquatic Centre.

Swimming Instructions

For the safety of all patrons, the City of North Battleford does not permit individuals or external groups to provide swim instruction  in our facility. Swim instruction is restricted to City of North Battleford Parks and Recreation qualified and certified swimming instructors. Arrangements can be made for private instruction by contacting an on-site staff member. Individuals or external groups suspected of providing swim instruction or exhibiting the behaviours to individuals or groups listed below, will be asked to stop.

  • Writing or designing a lesson plan
  • Demonstrating or explaining specific skills in the water or on the deck
  • Providing feedback and corrections as it relates to a specific skill, including assisting a patron with technique

Pool Supervision

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding mothers need the communities support, and the City of North Battleford supports mothers who wish to breastfeed at any of our facilities. Breastfeeding is an accepted practice at all City facilities.

Late to Classes

We ask that all participants to arrive before the class begins and if possible to stay for the entire class. Our fitness classes are designed to include a warm-up, workout and cool down. For your safety and wellbeing, please arrive on time.

Swimwear Guidelines

Child swim wear
All children 35 months of age and younger must wear a swim diaper.

Non-Traditional Swim Wear
We are committed to providing an environment where people from all ethnic and religious backgrounds are comfortable visiting the Credit Union CUplex Battlefords CO-OP Aquatic Centre.

In addition to traditional swim wear, visitors to the pools may wear:

  • Long-sleeved pants and shirts, t-shirts and shorts with undergarments or a swimsuit worn underneath.
  • Traditional ethnic clothing (e.g. saris and hijabs) with a swimsuit or undergarments worn underneath. For safety reasons, patrons wearing traditional garments such as saris are asked to remain in the shallow end of the pool and to refrain from using the lane pool.

To ensure that our aquatic environments are safe and free from any contaminants, visitors need to:

  • Wear clothing that is different from the clothing worn to the facility.
  • Take a complete and cleansing shower (while clothed in the swim attire that will be worn in the water) before entering the pool.

Personal Inflatable Toys

Personal inflatable toys are permitted in the facility if capacity permits and with lifeguard approval. Baby water wings and tube rings on small children are permitted provided they are within arm’s reach of a responsible person.
