Councillor Candidate Profile: George, Mercy

Since 2004, Mercy George has proudly called North Battleford home. Originally from India, Mercy holds B.Sc. and B.Ed. degrees and lived in Malaysia before immigrating to Canada. She has worked at Sakewew High School and RBC, and now owns Dejma’s Curry House, gaining valuable insight as a small business owner. As a mother of three daughters and a son-in-law, Mercy understands the needs of both families and entrepreneurs.

Her passion for the city is evident in her community involvement, volunteering with SHA, fundraising for BUH and the local food bank, and participating in "Taste of Culture," which inspired her restaurant. Mercy is eager to serve on the City Council with a vision to reduce crime, support local businesses, and revitalize downtown North Battleford.
