Waste Management Facility to conduct controlled burn this week

A controlled burn will be underway this morning at the City’s Waste Management Facility (WMF). The burn is expected to last for the remainder of the week while WMF staff oversee burning of the clean wood piles at the landfill.     

Bystanders should not be concerned if they see or smell smoke coming from the area near the WMF. Staff at the City’s landfill have notified the Fire Department and will be conducting the burn with the appropriate permit.
