Ref # ROL2024 - Roadways Labourer - Full-Time - CUPE

The Utility Services Labourer position is responsible for providing general labour and day-to-day maintenance within Utility Services. This role performs manual duties while utilizing hand and small power tools and is assigned work tasks to complete each day. The Utility Services Labourer drives light vehicles, operates site-specific machinery, assists with the HydroVac unit, and participates in a team environment while ensuring safety procedures are adhered to.


This role required one to attain Level 1 Water Distribution & Wastewater Collection within eighteen (18) months and participate in an on-call after-hours emergency response schedule and overtime as required.

Qualifications

•    Grade 12 or G.E.D. or equivalent. 
•    Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license.
•    Demonstrated a combination of experience and training to perform the work onsite.
•    Must be willing to acquire Level 1 Water Distribution & Wastewater Collection within eighteen (18) months.
•    Knowledge of water distribution and wastewater collection, operating principles and practices.
•    Identify possible and probable causes associated with water distribution, wastewater and storm sewer collection systems problems, blockages, and failures.
•    Must have a valid, Saskatchewan Drivers Class 5 License along with a clean driver abstract. 
•    Provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check upon hire.

Year 1 $22.01 Year 2 $22.89  Year 3 $23.80 (CUPE 2024)  

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday  (40 hours per week)
