Preliminary UPAR work underway this week on 110th Street; minor traffic detours in place

In preparation for the significant work taking place later this year for the City's UPAR (Underground Pipe and Asphalt Replacement) program on 110th Street, crews are in place doing some tree removal this week.

The work is being completed by both the City's Arborist (tree trimming) and the underground contractor (tree removal) the City has hired to complete this year's UPAR project between Pioneer Avenue and the 900 Block of 110th Street.

Elm trees need to be trimmed and/or removed prior to April 1st, when the Provincial Elm Tree Pruning Ban enters into effect.

Important information:

  • planning is in place for the removal of ten trees
  • trees which are being removed are done so because they are in the way of vital UPAR work
  • trees are not removed unless necessary; all tree are on City of North Battleford property
  • trees will be replanted by the City, at no cost to property owners, following the paving of the road
  • motorists can expect detours/delays on 110th Street while this work is taking place

Any questions about the 2025 UPAR projects may be directed by email to epai@cityofnb.ca or by contacting City Hall, at 306-445-1700.
