Numerous options available for North Battleford-eligible voters in upcoming municipal election
Elections North Battleford is readying the polls for voters ahead of the 2024 Municipal Election and officials are encouraging early registration to save voters some time when they cast their ballots later this fall.
“A number of different registration methods are available to eligible voters,” commented Returning Officer Stacey Hadley. “Our Elections North Battleford team wants to encourage a high turnout for this civic election, and we aim to assist people ahead of time to make this a convenient experience for all voters.”
In addition to using the provincial government’s voter registry, the City of North Battleford will accept voter registration in advance from those who are not on the provincial voter registry, those who may be new voters in North Battleford, or those who may have a change in their personal information since previously registering. Mail-In Ballots
Mail-In Ballot applications are now available on the Elections North Battleford website or at City Hall. Mail-In Ballots are available as an option for voters who may be homebound or for voters who may be physically unable to attend a polling place. Ballot applications can also be obtained at City Hall during regular business hours.
Mail-in ballot application deadlines are as follows:
- To apply in person, not later than November 12, 2024
- To apply by mail or online, not later than November 2, 2024
Special Polls/Mobile Polls
Open to residents, patients, or eligible staff of several different care or medical facilities, Special Polls will be conducted in early November. Residents/Patients who are unable to attend these physical poll locations may make an application for a mail-in/mobile ballot. Special Polls will be held on the following dates:
- Battlefords Union Hospital – Friday, November 1, 2024
- Saskatchewan Hospital – Monday, November 4, 2024
- Note: The land where the Saskatchewan Hospital sits was annexed in 2021 to become part of the City of North Battleford and is being included in the 2024 Municipal Election for the first time.
- River Heights Lodge and Caleb Village – Tuesday, November 5, 2024
- Harwood Manor and Villa Pascal – Wednesday, November 6, 2024
Voters who wish to have election officials attend their residences to take their vote (Mobile Poll) must make applications electronically or by mail. Appointments to vote may be arranged by calling 306-445-1700. The deadline to apply for mobile polling is not later than Saturday, November 2, 2024. Applications for Mobile Polls are the same as the Mail-In Ballot applications.
Advance Polls
Voters can attend any of three advance poll dates, to be held at the Don Ross Community Centre Gym (891-99th Street).
- Saturday, November 2, 2024 – 12pm-6pm
- Thursday, November 7, 2024 – 2pm-8pm
- Saturday, November 9, 2024 – 12pm-6pm
Election Day Poll
One central polling station will be set up for voters wishing to vote on November 13, 2024 (Election Day). Polls will be open from 9am-8pm at the Access Communications Centre, located at 1902-104th Street.
Election Results
When tabulated by the Returning Officer, the North Battleford 2024 Municipal Election results will be shared at www.cityofnb.ca/elections, on the City’s Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter) pages, and sent via email to all 2024 Election Candidates and members of the media.
