Judicial recount for Councillor race in North Battleford Municipal Election set for November 29

With two votes separating the City Councillor candidates who were noted as finishing sixth (1084 votes) and seventh (1082 votes) in the 2024 Municipal Election Councillor race, a Notice of Request for Recount has been filed with North Battleford’s Returning Officer.

Pursuant to The Local Government Election Act, the request for recount was received by the Returning Officer on November 21, 2024. A Court of King’s Bench judge granted the request for a recount, which is set to take place at the King’s Bench Courthouse on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 9:30am in closed court.      

In accordance with the City’s Vote Counting Machine Bylaw No. 2163, the recount will be done using electronic voting machines. Results of the recount will be circulated when complete.
