Detour to access City’s Waste Management Facility starting July 4th for Wearing Road Construction

Scheduled improvements to Wearing Road, the route typically used for accessing the City’s Waste Management Facility (WMF), will begin on July 4, 2023.

The necessary repair and rehabilitation to Wearing Road will cause a detour for approximately six weeks, barring any major weather or construction delays. During the construction period, hours of operation at the WMF will not be impacted.

Signage indicating the detour will be marked, which will indicate the following route changes:

  • Instead of accessing the WMF via Wearing Road from Territorial Drive, motorists will instead continue down Territorial Drive, turning left onto to Highway 16, before turning left onto Highway 40 and travelling past the Ag Society Grounds.
  • Motorists will then turn left onto Range Road 3162, travelling until they encounter the intersection of Wearing Road, making a left turn, and then turning right onto the Waste Management Facility access road.
  • Motorists travelling west on Wearing Road towards the City of North Battleford will be directed south at Range Road 3162 to Highway 40.

Advance notice has been communicated to residents in this area and to any contractors whose access to the WMF will be altered during this construction period. The City of North Battleford asks that motorists please follow the detour route as marked, and requests that all posted signage, and/or temporary speed limit restrictions are obeyed in the interest of safety.

The City of North Battleford extends its gratitude to the RM of North Battleford 437 for working with Administration to determine alternative access to its WMF while upgrades take place. The City apologizes for any inconvenience this disruption may cause and appreciates the patience of the general public at this time.
