Region Plans full itinerary of events in commemoration of National Truth & Reconciliation Day

On September 30, 2022, residents of the Battlefords region and its surrounding communities will have many opportunities to honour those impacted by residential schools.

Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs (BATC), the Town of Battleford, and the City of North Battleford have developed this comprehensive itinerary in collaboration with community partners and dedicated individuals throughout the area in the spirit of reconciliation and inclusion.

 You are invited to attend all of these events to show your support and learn from our Indigenous community members while we work together towards reconciliation.

Itinerary, September 30, 2022

  • 8:00am: Pipe Ceremony at The Ridge
  • 9:00am: Star Children Flag Raising at The Town of Battleford
  • 10:00am: Star Children Flag Raising at The City of North Battleford
  • 10:30am: Every Child Matters event at Battlefords Indian Métis Friendship Centre
  • 11:00am: Battleford Industrial School Walk supported by Sunchild Law
  • 2:30pm: Unveiling of PÄ“yak Trail in North Battleford
  • 3:30pm: Event at King Hill featuring a Knowledge Board & Reception supported by Lucky Man Cree Nation

We encourage you to take part in as many events as you can as we spend September 30th honouring, remembering, and promising to do better.
