The City of North Battleford is now in the fifth month of our MANDATORY Smart Meter Installation. Over 20% of the meters have been installed to date. However, some installation zones have several properties that have yet to book their smart meter installation.
Installs Ending in Zones 2, 3, & 4
Residents in Zones 2, 3, & 4 have received a minimum of three communications delivered to their property asking them to contact KTI Limited to have their, new water meter installed, free of charge. These Zones are entering the last phase of meter installs in the area. Anyone who has not booked an appointment in Zones 2, 3, or 4 will be receiving notification of their pending water shut-off in the next week. To avoid having your water shut off please call the KTI booking number or visit their website to book your appointment immediately. If you are a tenant, please contact your landlord to discuss booking an appointment.

Your booking password is your utility account number.
Residents living outside the open zones will receive notification in the mail once their zone is open for meter changeovers.
The meters are being upgraded from ageing analog meters that are nearing the end of their service life to smart water meters.
The new meters will provide property owners on-demand information about their water use and detailed statistics of previous use. What this means is that residents will now have tools available to identify if they have a water leak on their property. With current analog meters, a small leak is easily unnoticeable, wasting money and resources. Additionally, the new meters will allow the City to optimize our water infrastructure and reduce our environmental footprint. Just like residents, the City will have tools to assist in identifying small leaks and areas requiring repair.
Upgrades are being completed by zone. When your zone is active for booking and installation, each property in that zone will receive a series of communications over 6-8 weeks, notifying you that you can schedule the installation of the new meter. The information delivered to your property will include information on how to book your upgrade. Booking can be completed by phone or online, through KTI. Installation for residential properties is estimated to take between 30-minutes to an hour.
Book your upgrade at your earliest convenience with a time that best meets your schedule. Appointments are available in 4-hour blocks during the morning, afternoon, evening, and on Saturdays. Households or businesses that fail to book the installation of their new water meters will be provided a final notice before their water is shut off. Upon failing to respond in the time allotted water to the property will then be shut off until the upgrade is booked. Please note that there will be no disconnection or reconnection fee charged to utility accounts that are shut off in relation to smart meter changeovers. Project delays resulting from individuals failing to book their changeovers will incur additional costs to all ratepayers.
