The City of North Battleford is strongly encouraging people to exercise caution on and by the North Saskatchewan River. The high flow and strong currents pose a safety risk to people and pets.
Riverbanks can be a serious risk at this time. The increased level and flow of water can erode and undercut the shore, which could cause parts of the riverbank to collapse into the river.
The North Battleford Fire Department will continue to monitor the North Saskatchewan River and reminds everyone to never underestimate the power of the river currents and the danger it poses.
