Street parking restrictions allow multiple City of North Battleford crews to perform numerous works and inspections that would be seriously impeded or delayed if vehicles are not removed, causing delays in services provided to residents. The parking restrictions remove the need to notify each resident individually of a date and time to have their vehicles off the street.
The City of North Battleford is reminding all drivers to obey all traffic signs and street parking restrictions, including residents and visitors with recreational vehicles. Offenders will be ticketed by Community Safety Officers.
Failure to remove your vehicle during the street parking restriction date and time will result in a $20 fine. Late payment (after 14 days of issue) will result in a late payment penalty doubling the fine to $40.
Scheduled inspection and maintenance on streets include but are not limited to:
Winter maintenance – snow removal, plowing or sanding
Tree maintenance – pruning or removal
Street care – pothole and crack filling
Catch basins – inspection and repairs
Recreational vehicles must not obstruct, interfere with or interrupt the free passage of traffic on any public highway. Vehicles cannot be parked on any sidewalk or curb crossing. Also, no person shall park or leave parked at any time, a trailer, or recreational vehicle detached from the vehicle used for moving that trailer or recreational vehicle.
Recreational vehicles include but are not limited to; campers, tent trailers, fifth wheel trailers, vehicles pulled on trailers – boats, jet skis, all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles.
Dates and times of on-street parking restrictions can be found on the City of North Battleford website https://cityofnb.ca/mrws/filedriver/Schedule_I_Traffic_bylaw.pdf
Parking fines can be paid online, paying early saves you money by avoiding penalty www.cityofnb.ca/city_government/administration/pay_your_bills_and_fines.html
