As the Canada Post strike continues, utility customers for the City of North Battleford will still be required to pay amounts owing on their accounts even though paper bills are not going to be mailed out during postal delivery disruptions.

Waste Management Facility Fees

Effective March 1, 2024

Disposal fees

Each time you enter the WMF, there is a minimum $6 tipping fee - unless you are dropping off items only at the EcoCentre, for residential recycling, batteries, compostable materials, or clean soil.

The fees listed below are from Schedule "C" of Bylaw 1977.

A 25% City discount will apply to sorted household waste disposal from North Battleford residential properties. The discount is subject to proof of address and will be required at the scale:

  • valid Driver's Licence with a street address;
  • a piece of government mail (i.e.: tax notice or utility bill); or,
  • a signed declaration stating the address where the waste originated.

A special handling fee may be applied to large, bulky, or waste streams that are difficult to handle or that require immediate burial. Special handling fees will be applied as a surcharge between a minimum of $250 and a maximum of $500. The surcharge will be determined based on the quantity (number of loads) and size of the material.

Disposal of waste in the City of North Battleford is subject to provincial regulations for operating a waste disposal ground.

The City reserves the right to ban any firm from bringing solid waste into the Waste Management Facility if it is determined the firm continually brings in large quantities, approximately 10% percent of a load or more, of recyclable material for disposal.

The allowance of discounts, waiving of fees, surcharging, etc. will be at the sole discretion of the City-employed Waste Management Facility Operator.

Materials for sale

We divert some goods and provide them as is for you to buy. Items are subject to availability and may include bicycles, wood, desks, and chairs. The cost is $125 per metric tonne, or a minimum of $6.

We sell:

  • Crushed Concrete for $25 per tonne
  • Crushed Asphalt for $25 per tonne
  • Airport Milled Asphalt for $25 per tonne
  • Natural Wood Mulch for $125 per tonne
  • Reusable goods (minimum $6) for $125 per tonne
  • Clean soil for $10 per tonne
  • Weight ticket/verification $20 per ticket
