Cooking Oil and Grease

Never pour Fats, cooking Oils, or Grease (FOGs) down the drain. These liquids will become cool and become a solid in the sewer lines. The FOGs can stick the pipe and cause a costly and possibly damaging sewer backups for you and your neighbours.

Free drop off

You can bring your household cooking oil, fats, and grease to the Waste Management Facility (WMF) for free. It is easy, here is how to do it.

  1. Collect your cooled cooking oil, fat, or grease in a container with a lid
  2. Bring that container to the WMF
  3. At the gate, tell the scale house attendant you have FOGs; they will direct you to the collection bin
  4. Pour your FOGs and leave the WMF

Open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

No entry after 5:45 p.m.

Closed for statutory holidays Winter hours November 1 to April 30

Open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No entry after 4:45 p.m.
