Criminal Record Check

If you have a new job opportunity or volunteering, you will need a criminal record check. There are two ways to get one completed.

After you have paid for your criminal record check at City Hall or online, go to the RCMP detachment with two pieces of government-issued ID. It is important to know they cannot start the criminal record check until you do this. Please note that effective May 15, 2024, "rush" criminal record checks can no longer be completed. Regular processing times for CR checks and vulnerable sector checks apply.

To make sure you get your criminal record check done in a timely manner, please follow these steps.

You can pay your criminal record check fee using a credit card or a Visa Debit Card online.

Fill out the application and pay for it.
Your receipt will be sent to the RCMP detachment.
Bring two pieces of government-issued ID to the RCMP detachment.

You can pay for your criminal record check fee at City Hall during regular business hours. We are open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed for statutory holidays. You can pay with:
