Street Closure and Temporary Street Use Permits

You need a temporary street use permit for any activity that blocks or uses an alley, boulevard, sidewalk, or street, no matter how long it lasts.

After the permit is issued, the City will inform the police, fire department, ambulance service, and other relevant agencies.

The applicant must handle the pickup, setup, maintenance, takedown, and return of any barricades, as well as manage traffic in the area. Barricades can be rented, but the applicant will be charged for any that are lost or damaged.
