PART-TIME CASHIER

KINSMEN AQUATIC CENTRE

Qualifications:

• Experience with retail sales and bookkeeping.
• Advanced keyboard and computer skills/Word/Network Excel/Desktop Publishing.
• Willing and able to learn new technology.
• Mature, organized, efficient and able to work independently or with a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Description of Duties:

• Answer customers’ questions and provide information of schedule and programs.
• Compute and record totals of transactions.
• Count money in cash drawers at beginning of shifts to ensure amounts are correct and to ensure there is adequate change.
• Greet customers entering establishment.
• Receive payment by cash, cheque, credit card, vouchers or auto debit.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Maintain clean and orderly office area.
• Provide excellent customer service.


Other: - Position involves part-time hours & possible week end shifts primarily from 6:45 PM and 9:45 PM, to a maximum of 20 hours/week.

Wages:

• Per CUPE Agreement - $13.28/hr, plus holiday pay.

WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

PERMANENT FULL-TIME

September 8th, 2010

Under the general direction of the Operations Foremen at both Water & Wastewater Plants, operators are required to carry out the general work routine at two water plants, sewage plant and related ancillary facilities in accordance with Provincial regulations and license requirements. The operators will have to perform some of their duties with some exposure to wastewater, bio-solids, chemicals, noise and odors; heavy lifting, standing, climbing; may work in inclement weather conditions as well as at heights in confined spaces.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations: - 8 hour shifts may include evenings, weekends &/or possible overtime
• Perform required parameter tests on plant operations using a variety of procedures, adjusting plant operations as required.
• Maintain chemical feed stocks (such as clear pak plus, potassium permanganate, gaseous chlorine) at suitable levels for plant operation. This may require heavy lifting.
• Check systematically all plant processes and equipment to ensure proper operation and record operating characteristics.
• Assist to orientate staff in plant operations.
• Perform equipment maintenance and repair work including disassembly, re-assembly and installation.
• General building maintenance & repair and product loading & unloading.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education to be Given Consideration:
• Preference will be given to Graduates of Water Resources Engineering Technology, SIAST or other Post Secondary education in Engineering or Natural/General Sciences; however, others are encouraged to apply.
• Journeymen, Technician & Apprentice Courses, such as electrical/plumbing/instrumentation will be an asset.
• Must have Grade XII or equivalent or a combination of education & experience.
• Preference will be given to those candidates who have achieved Level 1, II or III certification.
• WHMIS, Confined Space Entry, TDG and First Aid/CPR are required.
• Working with chlorine & extensive knowledge of chlorine safety an asset.
• Mechanical ability an asset.
• Water/Wastewater treatment plant operations experience an asset.
• Excellent health (position requires significant walking, climbing and lifting).
• Maintain harmonious work relationships.
• Valid Saskatchewan Vehicle Operator’s License with Air endorsement an asset.

Salary range in accordance with CUPE Local 287 Collective Agreement. Pay rates based on Level of Certification.
First Year First Year
Uncertified Operator $ 18.26 Level II Operator $ 21.59
Level I Operator $ 19.72 Level III Operator $ 22.27
